GODs

After years of studying Carl Jung’s archetype theories - and his psychoanalytic successors – while
simultaneously painting non-stop nocturnally, a cosmic point of Vivian’s artistic self-realization emerged
to her conscious. It was impossible not to embrace her artistic path after this acknowledgement. As she
embraced her identity and filtered her life through her “archetype” – she created the GODs series, as a
shout out to the world – a calling to each of us to embrace our core archetype and live in purpose. The
artist asks you to find which Olympian god “speaks” to you, in order to find your core personality
archetype.

APHRODITE– The Lover

Animal symbol:

White doves (symbol of freedom, purity, innocence)

APOLLO – THE Archer

Animal symbol:

The wolf. Apollo’s mother, Leto, transforms into one to get away from Hera’a rage in order to give birth to her twins (even though she was Zeus’ first wife).

ARES – The Warrior

Animal symbol:

Vulture, symbolizing his predatory nature

ARTEMIS – The Explorer

Animal symbol:

Deer– Artemis protected and/or hunted it.

Athena – The Wise

Animal symbol:

Owl. Observes situations from a distance – when it takes action (to hunt) it is precise and strategic.

DEMETER – The mother/caretaker

Animal symbol:

Snake, symbolizing the earth, transformation and the change of seasons.

HEPHAESTUS – The Inventor

Animal symbol:

Crane, it is depicted on his chariot and symbolizes the migrating birds (his return to Olympus).

HERA – The Devoted

Animal symbol:

Peacock, sees everything with its many eyes – vain.

HERMES – The Messenger

Animal symbol:

The turtle; Hermes created the lyre out of its shell. Moreover, he transformed the Nymph Chelone, into a turtle and throwing her into the river at Zeus’ orders, after she ostentatiously denied to attend Hera’s and Zeus’ marriage (she had been one of his mistresses)

HESTIA – The Spiritual

Animal symbol:

The donkey – She was once in danger of getting raped by Priapos, a fertility king and was saved by the braying of a donkey.

POSEIDON – The Intuitive

Animal symbol:

Horse. He created the first horse. It represents primitive instincts.

ZEUS – The Leader

Animal symbol:

Eagle. Symbol of power, immortality, precision and victory. With its exceptional vision, it is considered the king of the skies, as is Zeus. The Aetos Dios is a giant, golden eagle which serves as Zeus’ personal messenger and companion.
